Continue to educate yourself on facts, Don't listen to all the GOP spin & whining, (on here too!), support your local elected officials, keep in mind that the truth always prevails, & don't stoop to their level. That'll do.

I hope you won't mind a Brit (though one with a large number of American relatives, hence my interest) having a few words here. And my apologies for not actually answering the Questioner's query.
I just wanted to say that you have no idea how odd it seems to us in the UK to hear some Americans say that Democrats are, in effect, crypto communists! The party seems so right wing compared with other western political parties, especially as some of the Democrats elected yesterday are quite 'Republican' in many aspects of their political leanings. Hence, in your every day lives, do you suppose you will be affected that much by having them in power?
Surely the main thing is to have a new slant on how to handle the debacle that is Iraq? The American people, in their wisdom, have provided a chance for that to happen.

Just keep reminding the folks you voted for that 49% of the voters didn't agree with them so they better follow through with all their promises or they will suffer the same defeat later just as the Republicans did since they forgot that little fact.

No through fact in January, 2009 we would have a clean president. whether he/she is republican or democrat is immaterial to me; a minimum of Bush would be out of place of work. If Bush would be our president for yet another 4 or 8 yrs I only may lead the insurrection!

You already did with your own vote. I may not agree with you but your biggest voice is your vote and your advocacy to a specific party.

Promise them that if they keep voting sensibly you'll do the same.
