In this state... Overly and unnecessarily organized (to make some idiot feel important and valuable) and intentional Illiteracy (no, seriously) and aggressive impulsive reactions to the other little jerk-wad bastards with "problems at home" that always end up trickling down into your otherwise well organized happy home effecting your otherwise well adjusted and well behaved children...by proxy.

Other than that... Not much past basic math. This state sucks for school period! I miss NYC terribly!

When I was a kid... it was phonics and the literal spelling of words... apparently, some genius (idiot-box) education specialist decided that this would be a good test state for a program called "Turtle words." Basically, they teach students to spell words the way they sound, not the way they are spelled. After the kid can spell any old way that pops into their little heads, they get praised for it and then they back track and teach them the right way in the first grade.

Now you tell me the point of all that? A point that actually means something relative to this universe.

They learn letters, numbers, reading and spelling simple words, some science (I can remember watching a monarch butterfly hatch out of a chryssalis and chicks hatch out of eggs in an incubator), as well as learning to share and interact with peers in a positive way to promote friendship and healthy competition. Kindergartens also teach kids everyday things like tying shoes, zipping zippers on coats, and hygeine stuff.

Newspapers, recipes, flyers,,, what ever you have. Make your place a place the place gaining knowledge of happens in spite of in case you're actually not attempting. encompass your self and your baby with maps, puzzles, blocks, books, academic board video games...each and every thing you are able to think of of. analyzing will incorporate minimum attempt in case you're making gaining knowledge of relaxing and comfortable.

It is quite a long list if one were to give it all but I'll give it a go. They learn how to follow the rules, to share the equipment given to them to use, to work as a team as well as alone, how to make and keep friendships, how to stand up for themselves, how to be organized while doing thier work, to keep track of their own possessions and how to show respect to their elders. They learn their abc's, numbers up to 100, the beginnings of reading(thought many do read at the end of kindergarten), they learn how to memorize by singing and repetitive rhymes, the different shapes and how they are used, how to write thier name, thier address, they know thier telephone number and where their parents work. They learn basic bus safety, personal safety and how to cross the street safely. And thats just in the morning.

It depends, but many are now teaching them simple math and reading, but mostly it is still about the social skills. They are being prepped for school.
