It would appear that way, so party lines may be a thing of the past

well, 45 years ago there wasn't a whole lot of difference between the two parties. The Democrats have realized that a change to the center is necessary and the Republicans are taking their lead. Will it last? Probably not, but we'll still see reverbs from this for years to come. Not a bad thing either.
