to non-chinese ppl, why do the chinese look so alike compared to other nationalities ??

Because they all have black hair and brown slanted eyes. With other races the hair and eye color can be different. In all actuality you can't tell who is siblings and who are not because they all look like they came from the same family.

Chinese people look the same to you cause you don't know Chinese people. In china people think all white people look the same. I can tell the difference between a Chinese person and a Japanese person, even between a person from hing Kong to a person from Beijing. The point is all Chinese people look the same is because you don't know Chinese people.

It's scientifically proven that you're more likely to recognise members of your own ethnic group than a different one (evolutionary reasons of survival i guess), so Chinese people wouldn't have a problem recognising each other i doubt they think they all look alike. And if you don't know someone well you recognise them by obvious markers such as their hair colour (so more difficult if they're chinese obv, cos normally black hair), whereas once you know them more you look at more their facial features.

Of course you can tell the difference! Why couldn't you? Just because they have black hair? So the following people all look alike: Jo Whiley, Edith Bowman, Kate Moss, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Paris Hilton, Jordan, Emma Bunton, Zoe Ball and there are many other blondes who look the same?

I truly don't understand why "YOU" people think that we all look the same!! I mean, I don't think that "YOU" people all look the same. I guess its just that you're not used to seeing us. Or maybe when you do look at us, you only glance and take in the obvious: black hair, yellow skin, dark (and usually small) eyes. I don't really think that our eyes are slanted (I can't find any slant in mine) but... If you get used to seeing more of us and taking in more details, then you'll be able to recognize the differences between this Chinese and that one.

Chinese, when looking at white anglo-saxons, see them as looking indistinguishable as well.
Blacks, when looking at "whites" see them as all looking alike. It's all about what we are accustomed to seeing.
Personally speaking, I can easily tell the difference between two Chinese, as well as between Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hmong.

They actually look quite different, if you pay attention. Hair colour and eye shape aren't the only physical traits you can see in people, you know.

look similar but not clones - but if they see all whites the same, then there is either something wrong with their eyes, or mind.
