Conservatism is divided into 3 groups. Social Conservatives, Economic Conservatives, and those who are conservative on both issues. The same goes with liberalism, it is divided the same way, 3 groups. What makes many liberals think that all conservatives and/or republicans are conservative on social issues?

The social conservatives are the one's who talk the loudest about BEING conservatives -- not SOCIAL conservatives, but conservatives -- and about how NOT being one makes you a bad person. The social conservatives are the meanest and most hypocritical.

The insufferable social conservatives are the ones who have made it a huge issue.

That's why.

When you say "many" just what percentage are you talking about.

Many is a common element of conjecture. How about something like approximately 25%. That would produce a number that one could reconcile with.

The Census Bureau has a page on their website with all the demographics broke down. Like America has 1,200,000 liberals.

So if say 25% of the liberals or 300,000 people think all conservatives are social conservatives. Then you could isolate that group into a segment of concern.

Lets try this the most common occupation of liberals is educators especially college professors. That said what subject or discipline of education might produce a sub group that was recalcitrant enough to believe your premis? My guess would be Law Enforcement professors.

Therefore Cops Profile all people to be in a niche of convenience. To meet their superficial investigative needs.

The social conservatives are the ones who get the most press. Think of the likes of Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and Rick Santorum. Since they're so controversial, they tend to get more attention than people like John McCain and Barry Goldwater.

The Democratic leadership has spent a lot of time and money telling America that all Republicans are racists and homophobes.
If I try to show you the proof that the Dems want to give illegals Social Security on past money made in the U.S. illegally, yahoo answers will delete me they have every time. Liberals don't want to hear the truth or even let you speak it.

I'm libertarian with Conservative leaning, yet on social issues am more towards the middle. - LOG CABIN

However you label me I'd rather be called associated as a con than the scvm on this end of the spectrum.
