Normally, you would have to have a Masters or PhD in a specific degree. Many college also require that you work in that field and get so many years experience. You will also need excellent recommendations from highly ranked people in that field.

basic qualities:
constant drive to learn new things,
non stop motivation to earn furthur degrees.
learn stuff for the fun of learning, and not because it is required.
ability to keep up with the competent and knowledge thirst students

qualifications:
bachelor, masters/phd, paper submissions(may be optional). enquire the college of your choice for requirements. If you do not have a specific college in mind, then ask many colleges of your pick, regarding the requisites
