Not too old, but really time to take it seriously if you are going to do so. Go to a modeling school with a good reputation and take your lesson seriously. Don't think simply being pretty, even very pretty, is enough. You need to be able to act like a real professional, take the photographer's instructions almost intuitively, and think about the nuances of how you look every moment you are before the camera, and most of the rest of the time, too, for your reputation's sake. You will need to make meticulous grooming and hair and makeup a major part of the time you spend, and you must do it very well every day. No slouching, no "time off," until you are well established, and relax only a little in complete privacy. You will need to learn how to project an attitude from the look on your face that is exactly what the session calls for. In a way, all modeling includes a bit of acting, and you need to be coached on the graceful movements and the facial expressions at the very least.

Take it seriously, do it very well for a few years, salt away some serious investment capital, and then explore your options when you start to grow tired of the business, or it grows tired of you.

If you are able, go to the Clothes Show at the NEC in December, they have loads of Modelling Agents there and scouts, either you will be approached or you can always go to the different stands where they'll take some details a photo and contact you if you're what they require. Just becaeful of these rubbish agents that say you have to pay for your portfolio, their just out to con you, whatever happens good luck to ya!!!

I hope you are lucky and find an agency that will take you.

however, you are too short and too old to start a modelling career.

I am sorry, I know a lot of people are going to shout me down for that comment - and, it's true, there are agencies that will use people who are shorter/older/plumper than a *traditional* model - but for the majority.......you are 4 inches too short and at least 4 years too late

You're not too old but are you bullet proof? Not literally of course, but you're going to get some really choice comments about your looks, height, hair, everything if you take it up for a living. It isn't just about how you look I really do think you have to be the toughest little cookie if you're going to make a living modelling.

The only draw back I can see is you are too SHORT. Men need to be at LEAST 6ft, and women need to be LEAST 5ft 8 (but most of the top female models are nearly 6ft)

I know someone who is in their early 20's and successfully working as a model part time. If its your passion, go for it!
