For me it's long ago, I was about 18 times in Benidorm, had very good times overthere.
But I came in places where mostly only Spanish people came.

Costa del Blackpool us holiday reps use to call it, its not a resort to go to if you want to experience the culture and great scenery. Because all you will great are the great british stereotypical tourist socks pulled up to the knee whilst wearing sandals moaning its too hot and asking were they can get english food. Whilst going to a british bar abroad is something we are guilty off there is plenty infact i think there are more ex pats than native spanish! there is a lot of high rise hotels and the resort is well built up. Honestly its all you could ask of blackpool but slightly warmer with better beaches

I personally can't see the attraction of going somewhere so built up, tacky and full of Brits abroad swigging lager and eating fish and chips! I believe in going on holiday to relax, but also to experience another country's scenery, customs, food and culture. There are plenty of beautiful and classy places where people can go on hols where they enjoy the sun and sea without paying through the nose.

unlike the 1st respondant. i'm a towny and i dont go on holiday to see the birds and bees (not those kind of birds anyway) and neither do i go on holiday to go native. so yes i'm a benite. i love it. but back to your question better or worse. i think worse in the sense it has lost much of it's spanish flavour. although if you jump on a bus going anywhere inland you are back in spain and need to be able to speak a bit of spanish to be understood.contrary to what i just read it is still exceptionally cheap.but as for being better it still is. apart from the three sss's.it's what i like. noisy and brash and in yer face.if you know my email address. you'll get the idea

Marginally better, but it still wouldn't be top of my list of places to visit. They have tided the place up and it doesn't attract the lager lout clientele quite as much as it used to. Lots of pensioners on coach trips mainly.
