You,re ok. Nothing wrong with longing for the good ol' days. Be thankful that you have some fond memories. Some people only have misery in their past and can't recall any good things.

if it doesn't "keep" you from enjoying the here and now
why don't you write a column for your local paper
...or put a blog on-line...or a be a regular on you tube...
about your memories of the past...and your dad's memories, etc...
you'll be creating a source of history for the future
--and, you can use info. gathered here, as inspiration and confirmation
