What are the uses and applications of microwaves, and do they effect our everyday lives?

Microwave is the back bone of many of the distant multiple telephone svc. the wide band satellite service is the link to tie the world together. Tv & telephone service. The radiation doecnt cause any real health problems as the beams are very direct as a beam of light. It is a lot of our world communications.

The point of using microwaves in transmission systems is that the higher the frequency the more data can be carried.

Microwaves are located in the MIS wave band if that's any help. MIS stands for Medical, Indrustal and Scientific. I know that wireless networks also use this band.
