How do you get the card key from the Silph Co HQ?

it's inside the building.
on floor five (i think, don't hold me to it!) there is a big room on the lower right hand side of the floor. around the right side to the bottom of it, there is only enough passage for 1 sprite to fit through at a time. (i mean, it's one space wide)
on the lower left exit of this alley, there is a rocket member that's like one of four or something. to the right of him is the warp path you need to take to get to the card key. the card key will be in an item ball on a table in the upper left side of a mini-room
there is nothing wrong with getting the key before getting lapras. you get a lapras as long as you didn't beat giovanni, that's all. there is a room with three people that are scared for their lives. one of them gives you the lapras. i think it's right after the rival fight.

You might want to stock up on a few Hyper Potions before entering Silph Co, our next destination. Silph Co is the big building in the middle of town. Go there and enter. Go to the northwest side and take the elevator to the 5th floor. Go to the very left(avoiding the moving trainer) then south. Defeat the Rocket here, then go past him to the right. If you can't do this because he's in the way, just step on a teleporter and back. There should be an itemball containing a Card Key blocking your way. Pick it up. Return to the elevator and go down to the third floor. Go south and battle the Rocket. Unlock the door to your right and take the teleporter. You'll see your rival in the new room. Advance forward and fight him.

1-be sure to alot of hyper potions with u
2-don't get the card key first you won't get lapras as a present for later on in the game trust me i got the card key first and didn't get lapras as a present out of that i had nobody 2 beat up
3- fight all the bad guys depending which way your going 2 do it
meaning fight from the 2nd floor up to the 11th floor or fight your way down from the 10th floor to the 2nd floor and on the 9th floor to the far left there's a lady who refreshes u & your pokemon. u get lapras as a present on the 8th floor after saving everybody not b4. that's like the best part of the game for me when i play :)
