In tinnitus, the sounds a person hears are actually perceptions. Since there's no actual source, they are often referred to as "phantom noises". I read that about 8% of all people in the US suffer from tinnitus so you are not the only one who hears these strange noises.

Tinnitus is actually not a disease. It is actually a symptom of a problem that is rooted deep, somewhere within your body. The problem could be a simple one like an infection in the ear, or even simpler, such as ear wax. Just clear the wax and get the infection treated, and the noises could go away. In some people, it could even be the result of a side-effect of a drug they took. Or it could be more complicated.

If you want to know more about this condition and wnat to learn how to solve naturally your problems with these annoying noises you should read this ebook: http://tinnitus.toptips.org

Next time you go wear earplugs. You are doing some serious damage to your inner ear. It's your ear drum which is still vibrating from the noise. You could end up with a perforated ear drum and eventually lose your hearing. Be careful, take care of yourself, the band isn't worth it.

I don't know the whole medical explanation of it, but I know it has to do with the middle ear and the irratation of the ear drum from loud constant music/noises (tennitis-sp.) And, in the long run if you dont muffle some of that noise-it can cause hearing loss or even deafness.

that ringing is ear drum damage unfortunatly.i used to get it alot when i played in a band so used to wear ear plugs when rehearsing.the longer the ringing is for the worse the damage.try staying away form the main PA at gigs.i stand right at the back.its not as exciting as be right at the front but the sound is actually better unless the sound guy is CR*P.

the ringing is caused by the nerve receptors in your ear dying, this leads to tinnitus which is a constant ringing when in silence.

the reason why is because you are making your ear sensitive and they are able to handle the noise. so they ring.

You were subjected to very loud music for several contiguous hours and that is what can be expected.

If your ears are still ringing now then it must have been a really good gig!
