I would like to believe so,but when I look at my own life and the world around me I have to think that no people don't get what they deserve. After all Bill Gates essentially royally screwed his partner Steve Jobs when it came to the creation of windows, and his punishment was to become the richest man on earth? Though at least Steve pulled it out in the end I guess that's at least half of the right outcome. But to look around the world and believe that people get what they deserve,no way. Way too many otherwise good people starving to death, being brutalized and murdered by insane dictators or religious fanatics,or decimated by disease for me to believe such a thing.

How could that be a possibility ? Are you saying that newborn babies that have ,lets say a whole in their heart at birth and they need emergency surgery and they get the surgery and die on the table- Because they deserved it?
How about a two year old that's abused by someone -is that because the two year old deserved it ?
Of course not! That just simply not reasonable to think we get what we deserve. If we work hard and get rewards for jobs well done in any area of our lives then yes we deserve it. If we break the law then yes sometimes the punishment is befitting.
So your question is answered -yes?

I think that eventually, life evens out. Once in a while, we get the pleasure of seeing instant karmic retribution, but not very often. People who are miserable, retched bast***s who seem to have it all are still miserable and retched inside, so they've provided themselves with a horrible exsistance and afterlife (if you believe in things like that). But people who are good and kind that can't seem to catch a break will still be rewarded in some form or another. For every action, there is an equal reaction in life.

Absolutely....and I can tell you this from personal experience. It's not like if someone did something wrong, they'll face the consequences the next day or anything like that. It can take a long time, but sooner or later, what goes around, comes around. Same goes for the good stuff you do...if you helped someone when they were in a tough spot, you'll get the help back someday when you need it.

No I dont think they do. I

know alot of messed up people that have lied, manipulated, stole, and cheated on people and still manage to live a happy life with alot of friends.

Maybe people change but I dont know how you can go from being that bad person to a good person especially if some of the things you have done are just horrible.

Eventually, yes. Only an atheist could think differently. Both Christianity and religions that believe in reincarnation have methods for final comeuppance.

If you think about it, though, atheism is dangerously short sighted. Read up on Near Death Experiences. Not all of them can be explained away as simple oxygen starvation. At the very least, souls are able to travel dozens of yards from the body, and watch and listen to things going on FAR from their sense organs. This has been documented. We are NOT just our flesh. And eventually, whatever we do WILL be visited upon us for good or ill.

Yes. If not now, then later. Eventually all goodness is rewarded & all evil punished. Be patient. Even if you don't subscribe to any particular religion or faith, there is the concept of karma. What goes around, comes around.

Some people just have really awful luck, it seems. I know people who partied their way through life, f---ed up several times, and still managed to get a high-paying job through "connections". Meanwhile, people like me played by the rules, worked hard, and have nothing to show for it. It sucks.

No far from it, like that saying what goes around comes around its rubbish, if your a soft head then youll continue to get all the rubbish whilst people with a bit of backbone will do okay for themselves! but sometimes people get whats coming to them just not always!

In my opinion I think people get what they deserve...maybe not instantly or in an expected way but everything you put out into the world comes back to you
