Hi, I have been a witch for 42 years since I was 8 years old. I was family tradition, meaning that I was in a family of witches. Coming down from my great-grandmother through my grandmother, and great-aunt, to me. My father bought me my first book on witchcraft and my first deck of tarot cards when I was 8 years old. I can tell you that your dreams probably mean that you WERE a witch in a previous lifetime. Whether or not you want to follow that path in this lifetime is up to you. You need to find a reputable person to teach you, but most teachers will not take on students under the age of 18 without the person's parent's permission (for instance, I will not do so). The religion of Wicca is serious business, and the main rule is that what you do returns to you times 3, good for good, or bad for bad, so there is a very, VERY strong incentive to only do good things. Most of what you have heard about witchcraft is rumor and superstition. The movies exaggerate and add to the baloney out there about witchcraft. What it really is is a nature based religion, which teaches respect for the earth, her rivers, oceans, mountains, forests, and air. We believe Gaia (the earth) is a living being, and that the oceans and rivers are her blood, the air is her breath, and the forests are her lungs, etc. - we teach conservation and ecology, and environmentalism. "Spells" are a form of ritualized prayer that asks for a particular thing to happen, that is done in a ritualized manner, that generally petitions Luna, or the Moon Goddess (she goes by many, many names) and this is done either solitarilarily (by a witch alone) or by a circle of witches together, in what used to be called a coven, but now us usually referred to as a "circle"... There are no sacrafices, no bloodletting, and nothing evil or maleficient about these ceremonies. They are gentle and lovely and are beautiful. We do not believe in the Christian concept of hell or Satan, and therefore there is no such thing as Satan worshippers amongst witches. That is a common misconception, unfortunately. We love and respect all life, and all animals, and would never sacrafice any living being for any reason. People who tell you otherwise are misinformed or downright lying. Wicca is the fastst growing religion in the USA today, and one of the fastest growing religions in the world. Estimates vary but during the "Burning times" it is said that as many as nine million witches were burned during the Inquisiton, usually the disenfranchised, poor, and mentally ill. If you accused your neighbor of being a witch, you inherited their property, so there was a great deal of reason for pointing the finger at other people. Entire villages were decimated during the Burning times. I frankly think that these estimates are inflated, and believe that the real number lies somehwere more around 3 to 4 million witches burned, hanged, drowned, or tortured to death. If you would like some books to read about witchcraft, I could recommend some to you, you may write back to me at this forum, and I will write to you again. Namaste, Solange

Why do we dream? Some find it recreational or entertaining our minds during a restorative sleep. Some find it problem solving done by our subconsious, or even some spiritual interface when we are receptive as we wouldn't be when our logical processes are alert during waking hours.

Now you are awake and applying those logical mental powers to scrutinize thoughts generated at a time when logical mental powers are largely subdued--see something here?

In our dreams we can be what real life does not empower us to be. In our dreams we can live in a world without the constraints of the awakened world. Besides, folks like Poe and Stephen King became quite famous for telling the world in such entertaining ways what their "freaky" imaginations gave them. Write us a story then, and good luck in selling it, but remember that it will be a novel--fiction.

First of all, stay away from palm readers, and all that garbage that is from the dark side.

Second, we all have psychic powers to a certain extent.

Third, your dreams may come from something that is dark. You can change that by living you life in a good way. Witches are not something you want to be or associate with, keep your distance from any of that cult mentality.

What is best? Have a good relationship with God. That is where the light is, not darkness.
