All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely Players;
They have their Exits and their Entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts…

people don't act how they really are, they wear a costume to suit the environment that surrounds them, as the norm goes away. so does the mask. But when a new environment enters so does a new costume. and the cycle exits and enters over and over. And men are left playing many parts.

all the world is a stage in which men and women enter, perform their roles and then leave the stage(earth).here in the first 2 lines, shakespeare tells us that the world is a stage and the men and women are merely performers playing their parts.
last 2 lines
here entrance refers to birth, exit refers to death.in his lifetime he plays many parts or roles just like an actor performing on stage.

What is a stage? It's a blank canvas until you put a play on it. Life is unscripted and plays out in whatever setting you have placed yourself. Your life is yours to control like a play. The actors do what they are told by the playwright. You direct your own life, you can be whatever you want to be, you can play whatever role you choose, and you can change it at any time. The only thing you cannot change is what has already been performed... the past.

That is a more comforting interpretation than others where they feel they are just playing a role in a predetermined destiny.

The primary meaning of these lines are the idea that every person on this earth is merely an actor in the great play of life. We are all merely acting out our parts.

If you examine it a bit deeper, Shakespeare is really alluding to the idea of the grand scheme of life. We, as individuals, see the world and others only from our lown perspective- the world is important to each of us only as it directly relates to us. However, these lines reference the idea that we are actually only minor players, drifting in and out and easily replaced and interchanged, acting out this grand play on a cosmic stage. The world and life itself are bigger than any one of us.

Well if you read the next part of that poem or what not he pretty much explains it: He goes on to say that:

His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail

And from there he explains how different stages in our lives determine who we become. As we never stay the same person for very long, because outside influences will always mold us.

The quote you refer to is from the play, "As you like it," and the lines are spoken by a character named Jaques. Jaques is a cynic, and if you read the play carefully, you may discover that Shakespeare does not like this character. (The character's name, btw, means "toilet" in French).

In a commentary on these lines, written as an introduction to the play, in the Pelican edition of Shakespeare, Ralph Sargent writes: "Jaques, in his effort to establish himself as the superior person, stands outside life and merely observes it; he refuses to become committed, engaged." The writer goes on to note that the Seven Ages of Man leaves life "without meaning." Life becomes merely a series of "scenes" to be played out by actors (zero commitment to what's going on, simply empty observers). Such an attitude negates any moral commitment or any meaningful engagement. There's a hollowness.

From Hamlet, everything we do is watched by everyone and we act the way we are supposed to according to our culture and those around us expect, We come and go during this drama called life and a person may be one thing to one group of people and a different person entirely to another group of people.

My interpretation is that the script of life reamins the same, only the performers change and in one's life, you change that part: loving father, tyrannical boss, womanizing creep, repentant sinner.

What you did today, where you went today, who you spoke to today, what you said today, may determine the next "act" in the near oncoming future.
