I am a support worker which is in the Health & Social Care Field,
most people underestimate us and think we are just there to wipe up, feed, someone.
My job is with people who have physical and learning difficulties and within the Care Standards have to have certain training, qualifications etc. to be able to do my work responsibly.
Some people who do not do this sort of work think they couldn't do it, others underestimate your capabilities and think it is a job for those with no brains.....they are wrong.......I used to be in Management in the Building Trade and changed my career...it was the most rewarding and best thing I have ever done....so to all the care workers out there...hold your head up high...we are doing a fantastic job.
