I'm not sure why a short word like reply would need an abbreviation, but if I wanted to abbreviate it, I'd say "rply." Without any of those letters, it could be another word.
As was stated earlier, it definitely isn't "re" as that means "regarding."

RE: is the abbreviation for "regarding"
reply doesn't have any abbreviation other than RSVP, which is an abbreviation of a French phrase that translates as "Respond, if it pleases you".

Please, ignore the people that answered "re:"...
That is an abbreviation for "regarding". It is usually in the "Subject" line of an e-mail.
If you're trying to direct people to reply to an invitation, RSVP is the best bet. (It stands for "Repondez s'il vous plait"; French for "Respond, Please".
Otherwise, the word "reply" is too short for an abbreviation.

It depends on whether you mean a verb or a noun.
Do you want someone to SEND you a reply? If so, you probably mean RSVP (abbv. for French responde sil vous plait - respond if you please). Or are you referring to a reply your are GIVING? If so, you want RE: which means "concerning."
