I always wondered and I've heard several stories about it but I'd like to know. Is a C-Section painful or what exactly do you feel? I've heard that all you feel is alot of pressure but I've also heard that having a C-Section can be dangerous too. How is it really?

It should not be painful at the time if you are medicated properly, but you would feel a tugging and pressure. It is a MUCH longer and more painful recovery than a natural childbirth. Like any surgery, there is danger involved. Talk to your Dr. if you are concerned.

Go natural if you can at all help it... ALWAYS!

Strange how C sections were not a medical option for years and yet the infant mortality rate was no lower than it is today. I believe that it is both un natural, destroys a woman's body, and is just another unnecessary surgical procedure to charge the insurance company for.

I regret both of mine and yes... It is a very painful recovery process. You are numbed by an epidural during the procedure, but you can feel everything. It's like getting pinched repeatedly by pliers on a spot that is numb.

It is afterward that sucks out loud!

The procedure of a C-section isn't painful...it's the recovery. I was pretty drugged up through the surgery and recovery, so I don't remember a bunch of the pain afterward. I don't remember their being any pressure during the procedure either. Just some movement/jiggling to get my son out (he was breech ... head got stuck) As with any surgery there is some risk. In my case I didn't have much of a choice since he was breech.

No it is not painful at all, except when you are healing but that's not so bad either. There is always a risk in any surgery, but C-sections are quite common and very safe.

ANY SURGERY WHERE YOU ARE UNDER ANESTHESIA IS DANGEROUS. A PERSON MAY NOT WAKE UP, MAY HAVE AN ADVERSE REACTION TO THE ANESTHESIA. UNCOMFORTABLE PRESSURE, PAINFUL AFTERWARD, DEPENDS ON YOUR PAIN THRESHOLD.
