Would the world be a better place if we could read eachothers minds?

Very interesting question.... I would have to go with "Yes, it would be", because people would know all the bad thoughts walking around (liars, killers, robbers, rapists etc...) and no one could hide from being bad. Honesty is the best policy, and the honest people wouldn't have to worry about anything.

I guess that depends on your point of view, after all the question in many cases is could you handle knowing what people really know about you bad or good? I even have an example from my own life,I am currently falling head over heels for a woman who is up till this point just a friend,I am pretty sure that if she knew this it may lower her opinion of me since I would essentially be trying to take her away from someone else, and that could potentially damage the friendship that I currently have. I think she would be better off without the current loser in her life, but do I risk our friendship to take that extra step, and if we could all read each others minds she would already know,a situation which has ups and downs. In other words can you handle the truth, and can you handle never having a secret again. Overall I think it would be a plus, don't get me wrong,it would end alot of the phony pretense in the world forcing people to be honest with each other, and maybe that would cause some to endeavor to become better people when they couldn't hide their dirty little secrets,a senator and a preacher who have recently had scandals in the news immediately come to mind. But it's a knife that cuts both ways so I guess it falls into the be careful what you wish for category.

No. Sometimes, when we are angry, we think hurtfull things. These hurtfull things will end up hurting people and will only bring more misery and anger to the world.

How could we all get along with each other if people could no longer keep their private thoughts to themselves?

Our thoughts were meant to be private for a good reason.

I do not know, I know that everything about our culture and civilization would be completely different. It would be crazy. In Hitchhikers Guide of course there is a planet like that and everyone talks about anything they can think of all day long, so that no one else will be able to hear what they are really thinking about in their mind. Imagine no bull ****, it's easy if we try.

In my opinion, no, because a lot of people think wild and negative. I don't think people would want other people to be able to read their minds. It wouldn't be fair. Even though they shouldn't think negative.

Oh God no! It would be anarchy! Couldn't leave the house! We can barely get along as it is. People couldn't take that much honesty. Too scary. Too devestating.
