I am 22 yr old married female. My husband and I have a wonderful marriage. Here is my question ....... My best friend was my first love and he is in the armed forces and in Japan. When he calls me its usually about 9 or 10 at night my time and my husband an I are usually in bed or watching tv ( nothing sexual or i wouldn't answer the phone).... Am I wrong to answer the phone and have a long conversation with him at this time of night?

Absolutely wrong. You ask because you know it is. Your husband should come before your bestfriend and when My best friend calls in the evening I keep the conversation to five mins and ask her if it is okay for me to call her tomorrow. It's our time together and it's not fair to him if I was on the phone every evening. Would you like it if he was chatting with his old sweetheart at for that long in the evening?

No you are not wrong to be kind, however you are married and you need to tell your Friend to respect your marriage if he doesn't and continues to call he is not the Friend you think he is.

Answering him at any time of night or day is wrong. You are putting your marriage in jeopardy. Back off.

Friends are friends ... be sure your hubby understands that ...also be open when his old high school fling calls to catch up .. and he spends a hour or so laughing and talking to her ......

I bet you wouldn't have a problem with that .... your far too mature ...right?

Be Safe..... Be Considerate!

not even. if you're in love with your hubby, then there isn't anything wrong with chatting with a friend. however, if you have other motives and carry some torch for this buddy then i'd have to say that you need to decide what you want. just my thoughts good luck with it.

How does hubby feel about it? Try telling your friend to call earlier if possible, or if not, use email.
