The oil level is fine. I changed it and replaced oil filter. Dodge caravan sport v-6 137,000 miles Does not come on in the morning only when engine has warmed up and sitting at a stop light or in traffic on our great highway construction zone. I think oil pressure sensor is bad what do you think?

It could be the sender, but if it knocks for a couple of seconds when first started cold, the damage is done. You'll have to get a screw in gauge to run the engine till hot to see if the pressure really is low.

If the light goes off when you are accelerating it is NOT the sensor. if the light comes on when idling at a stop with the car in gear it is the oil pump starting to go bad. I would start shopping for a new car soon and what ever you do don't buy another DODGE or a FORD . do yourself a favor and buy a CHEV.

This is usually the sending unit for the oil pressure light. If you are not experiencing any symptoms of low oil pressure (clattering lifters or rods) It's a cheap and easy fix.

It could be the pressure sensor or the oil pump. I'd take it in to have it checked, incase it was your oil pump, you are risking the ruin of your engine.
