When I was young all the neighborhood kids got together and went caroling door to door. That was definitely a different time. I think if you could get a group of kids together that some people would enjoy door to door caroling, but, it is more likely that people would think you expected something for it.

If your kids (or a group of kids) want to do some caroling for people who would enjoy it, and want to go "door to door", consider contacting a nursing home. Each resident has their own room, some are confined to bed. I found this to be a wonderful way to let my daughter and her friends share the Christmas joy, and the people who not only heard them sing but saw them in their door when they could not leave the room were grateful. By contacting the nursing home in advance, they are able to tell their residents that a group will be singing. Anyone who did not want to participate just closed their door and the kids sang softly when walking by that room.

Yes I did when I was young, but I wouldn't take my kids door to door - no. Neighborhood Carol Sings in the park are fun though

George Michael went Christmas caroling once. He was in disguise as Neil from "The Young Ones."

I went with my two brothers when we were boys in the 70's. We lived in a small village Now we live in a town and I have been with a large church group in the town square wich was a lot of fun. I would not let my children go on there own door to door, but with a large group with adults would be fine.

When I was 12 my cousin convinced me to go caroling with her. Neither of us could sing, but we went anyway. I still think about it and laugh now. People were so nice to us, yet they must have closed their doors and laughed so hard.

I did in high school but not since. I wouldn't go door to door with my kids though. There's too many psychos out there nowadays.

I did as a child, I can't carry a tune in a ten gallon bucket now. I would love to go if the opportunity arose, but I wouldn't sing.

No, I've never done it. I'm not sure if ppl even do that anymore. As for me, no, I wouldn't do it. I don't want to torture anyone with my singing voice. Plus, you would probably run into too many assholes now days.
