The UK is once again debating over its abortion laws. It is allowed in this country currently up 24 weeks providing 2 doctors give their consent that to not abort would be of detrrement to the womans physical or mental health, that it would harm the child or their family.
seems about right to me.

I don't know about partial birth abortions in other countries. I do know that most of all the major countries have abortion clinics. There was a time in Russia where it was so commonly used by women it was considered a form of birth control. A lot of the reasons for that was lack of money for proper birth control. In China it is against the law to have more than one baby without permission so, abortion is very common there. Pretty much all European countries allow abortion and pay for them. Yet, as to late term abortions, I just don't know.

Many South American countries do. There is greater stigma attached to having had an abortion than to being an unwed mother.
Partial birth abortions are rare and most doctors only perform them when the mothers health is at risk. There are some exceptions but the reality is very few late term abortions are because the mother changes her mind about having the baby.

Conservative countries have laws banning abortion...Iraq, Iran, N. Korea, Syria, etc...But they call abortion something else, and perform them anyways. Abortion is a fact of life. Don't like it? Don't have one. And JSYK, late term abortions aren't 'on demand', they are abortions used in circumstances where the mother's life is in danger. Do you really think a woman would carry a baby for 8 months, if she didn't want it? Once again, fear clouds facts.
One more thing, restrictions were placed on abortions to protect a woman's health, not for moral reasons. Email me if you would like a link to the facts on abortion, and the history of legal abortion (it was legal when this country was founded)

In the UK you have to have medical evidence from 2 doctors saying that there is either a problem with the foetus or the mother (this can be social, medical or psychological). Its paper work, but what it amounts to id abortion on demand.

I believe that most Muslim countries forbid it. I would like to hear the official Islamic position on this issue.
Countries with a predominantly Catholic population also have problems with the procedure.

Late term abortion is a manufactured problem by the Republicans to get people mad so they will be distracted from real issues. In fact, it happens so seldom, and always with medically valid reasons, that it is a non-issue. I don't need you up in my womb.
