Start with a flake or two, and keep feeding small amounts until he quits. This will cut down on the waste in your tank, you don't want to overfeed. Once you have down what he eats at a feeding, do it once or twice a day, everyone has their own opinion on that but I always fed once a day first thing in the morning when I got up.

hi there, for your fighting fish, they probably have their actual diet once a day with a small pinch will do. Fighting fish will not swim too often around the aqua and will not using too much energy. If your fighting fish is breed for battle with others, then 3 days before the battle day, you must not feed anything to him, when battle, you will notice that he was so aggressive and probably will be an ultimate killer towards other fighting fish. This is my experience, but once finish fight, you must apply those relevant medicine for him to cure.

Fighting fish probably eat worm flakes, beside that, for your extra knowledge in breeding fighting fish, put 2 or 3 pieces of dry brown mango leaf. That will make the fighting fish much more healthy and the colour will be sharper as well.

If you wanna share more about fish with me, just add me in your msn, erico616@hotmail.com. Thanks a lot, i'm happy to share everything about fish here.

You should feed a fish about once every two to three days and only a pinch full. It might not seem like your feeding it a lot but they don't eat everything all at once and some will settle to the bottom. Plus it will keep your tank cleaner

I have gold fish in a pond and can feed them from 2-4 times a day depending on the algea. But of your fish is in a tank or bowl, I would go with what the food label says. Put some plants in the tank and make sure the water is the right ph. Overfeeding can create yucky water conditions.

Twice a day. A pinch of food at a time. The fish should eat it all within a minute or two.

More that when you feed them, you should think of WHAT you feed them.. that will help...

I assume you have a betta....

Betta's like freeze dried bloodworms, brine shrimp, mosquito larvae.....

If you alter this type of food.. they you will give him a healthy diet...

I feed my betta once a day, little by little, everything he eats in five minutes...

One day brine shrimp, one day bloodworms, the other day alage based flake food (this one he doesn't enjoy as much), and so on...

My fish is beautifull, its like 3 inches long (fins not included) and beautifully colored. It has a nice belly (not tumor big) and seems to be very happy. He's creating bubble nests all over the place waiting for females.

Don't starve you fish...I see some people say once every 3 days.... thats horrible.. And more than twice a day is way too much...

Best wishes to your betta...

are you saying a betta? IF IT IS A BETTA DONT FEED IT A PINCH OF FOOD! it will kill it!
because i have 3 and i have learned the hard way!
ok well if it is a betta then you need to feed it 1-3 pellets one at a time, if it eats one feed it one more and so on till you make 3 (you dont have to feed it three that is the max. the min. is 1)
do that once or twice a day
i have learned for my bettas that i feed them 2 pellets 2 times a day :)
hope it helps!

Betas like bloodworms. brine shrimp, larvae and need some vegetable flakes, feeding twice a day with a broad tipped tweezers.
Just what the tweezers can hold inside the broad tip. if your counting pieces that's maybe three flakes two brine shrimp or possibly two bloodworms.
