I'm trying to find out some information for a friend. He is a contractor in Florida and wanting to sub one of his jobs. What all does he need to do so? Like what kind of licenseing and all that. It will be for roofing. He just got his licenses and has a big job coming up and needed some help. Thank you

I need to know what permits and licenses are required.

I will assume he is a licensed professional with full liability insurance, a business license, and a federal id number:
with all this in place he only needs to sub out the job to another qualified and licensed contractor.

He should NOT sub the job to just anyone (like pick up bums off the street). Ultimately it is his company that would have responsibility for the quality of the roofing- not the sub.

Tell him to be sure to get the required permits for the job himself so he knows it's executed properly.
