However when you make a bid don't rebid a higher bid amount later on, you will see if you do this the item will have two bids for the item but one bidder in the history and if the seller if shady will realize that you have a high bid that is not the current bid

This is weird because my mom sells a grip of stuff on Ebay, and she watches the bid prices go up. She might not see "who" is bidding that price, but she definitely can see it get raised.
