First: I am not a lawyer.

That being said, it seems to me that it will cost a lot more than the dog is worth to get it back. You can't go to court in FL to get it back, since she is beyond FL jurisdiction. Are you going to go to CA to file suit and get it back?

I'm sorry, but the best course of action is to get a new dog unless you have lots of time and money.

You have every right to legally get your dog back, since it is registered to you. You would have to go to court to get an injunction to get your dog back.

Take your dog back and tell her you will see her in court and hope that that thieve goes to prison

go to small claims court and have her charged with kidnapping well dog-napping and try to get a few bucks for the pain.
