Whatever happened to adult-sized plimsolls? I used to wear them in the 1980's (mostly the plain black "school" style, slip-on, with elastic gussets). You used to be able to find them in old Army surplus strores for less than a fiver a pair. Now that everyone wears trainers they seem to have disappeared completely. Do people still wear them; can you still buy them?

Yep, you see them al the time on the gin palaces on the Thames.

They tend to be blue or green now

They look like pratts so take care not to make a fashion error, i think you'll be allright so long as you don't wear the cravaet at the same time.

Yeah you can still get them, my girlfriend wears them, but I havent seen larger sizes for a while now. I wear some white ones, which have got rubber toe caps which i got from www.whiteplimsolls.com so maybe give them a go.

hope that helps.

Why would you want to?!!! You can get slip on trainers now if that helps, martial arts trainers. But my God wearing plimpsole as an adult? Seriously? I hated wearing them as a child as i thought i was too cool for them at that age! I was always getting in trouble for wearing my trainers. Please dont do it to yourself, if for some god forsaken chance you find a pair! : )
