At first, this situation may seem pretty impossible with the word "permanent" on the marker, but often we will see how permanent can be erased with a few little tricks! The trick on youtube mentioned earlier is very helpful, and should be done first. However, small marks are still often left. This is how to get rid of the residue of the permanent marker. Again, first do the youtube trick. Take a cotton ball, and pour a small amount of nail polish remover on it, taking care not to spill it on clothing. Rub the cotton ball over the remaining marks and let it sit there for 20-30 seconds. Then, take a sponge or small cloth soaked in water, and sponge away the nail polish remover, taking the permanent marker residue with it! Happy cleaning!

Try Clinique Clarifying Lotion!
Sounds bizarre but it's like paint stripper - cleans melamine surfaces great and removes greasy kids face paints in a gentle swipe. You can get trial size bottle in department stores. Oh and it's great for coldsores too - when you feel the tingle start wiping this over your lips and the coldsore won't appear.

Try nail varnish remover,( test on a small area first though ) and a bit elbow grease should do the trick.
