Hi, I've used washing up liquid when the Washing Powder ran out. I asked a washing machine mechanic this once and he said it was more about the amount of bubbles ratio to penetrating wash. He said it would cause problems eventually but it was OK to use now and then. This was 20 years ago so things could have changed!!

I used to use whatever I could lay my hands on when I had very little money, shampoo, shower gel, even washing up liquid. When circumstances changed I bought 'proper' washing powders....the difference, especially when washing school socks or heavily soiled has meant that, altho I'm now back on a very low income I buy 'proper' powder. So no, bubble bath isn't just as good.

Laundry detergents are specially formulated to remove dirt and grease from fabrics, wherein bubblebath is for skin. Bubblebath will not do a thorough job of cleaning your clothes!

No, soap is not soap!!!! Like the other person wrote, laundry detergent is formulated to remove dirt and odors from FABRIC, bubble bath is a perfumed soap for the SKIN, that is like using shampoo to wash your dishes, rediculous!!

If it does the job, stick with it. It could be a good hair shampoo too, toilet cleaner, car wash, the list is endless.

You can't wash clothes with bubble bath.....washing powder has special 'ingredients' to wash your clothes properly..and get stains out! I bet you don't iron them either..just stick them under your matress!!
