Did you buy a lottery ticket?
If not this is a scam. I get about five per day.
Just delete it and ignore it..

If everything you say above is true, I don't mean to pour salt in your wound.

ARE YOU NUTS? In this day and age of information overload, you have never heard of this type of scam? You can just type Nigerian lottery in google and get hundreds, if not thousands, of pages devoted to this subject. And you wait until you give them vital personnal info to ask about it? Ok, enough with the lecture.

Cancel your bank account immediately and move the money to a new one (if there is any money still there). Cut off all contact immediately. You can report this to the Federal Trade commission, but there is little they can do past you reporting this. And hope they have not set up a fake ID with your info and are getting credit cards and loans in your name, and thus ruining your credit. Are you really going to pay off a loan that you did not take out? This is called Identity theft.

How do we stop them - NEVER GIVE personal information out for a contest you did not enter. If they got 10 people a day from the US to give them info, it affords them the ability to continue financing this scam!

Didn't it raise your suspicion that it was the AUSTRAILIAN lottery with a Bank of Nigeria account?

Good luck.

I am sorry to tell you but you have been scamed..... This is a very popular scam that is very hard to trace. People out there are going into chat rooms and there are the hackers who will try to get money out of you. once they have your bank account they will drain it all. With the ladies is usually a guy who lives in africa on a business trip and has run out of money and wins they love but by sending pics and love notes untill they can talk the person into sending money... My advise is go to your bank and close out all accounts...Do not send anything to anybody.. Your first mistake was beliving you won the lottery.. This is one of the scams... Please learn from this and dont ever send anything or belive anything you hear either in the mail or on the net..these people make a livining out there doing these things...

It is a scam!!!
I would call your bank and let them know about it because they are trying to get enough information to get into your account. I have no idea where to report such a thing. The bank might know. Let us know if you find out. Call your bank ASAP!!!
