any insights on this? how is it different from the older version intel core duo? how fast is the new intel core 2 duo? 25% faster?
i currently have a macbook with intel core duo, the older version? should i sell this one and go for the new one? or can i just upgrade this one to intel core 2 duo?

sorry many questions i just want full details =)

Problem with core processors is very little applications take advantage of the multi cores. Yes, it is faster then the regular core duo. I don't remember the speeds check out http://tomshardware.com for reviews perhaps they did one on this.

Not really enough difference to justify going out and buying a new one. They are slightly faster, and more importantly will get you a little better battery life, but I would not recommend spending the money on a new one.

There isn't much difference if you don't really do much on your Mac except to surf the net and do work. Even if you do photo editing its not much. Unless you really need a fast computer
