Exactly what it sounds like.
She oversees the other employees, and makes sure everyone is doing their job. She is there to help handle customer complaints, and make things right to keep them happy and coming back as repeat customers. If an employee is slacking off, or not doing a very good job, the supervisor has to deal with the situation. The supervisor would probably handle the hiring and firing of employees. Answering phones, doing paperwork, and other administrative duties would also fall within her range of responsibilities.

You should check with the company that you are concerned about. Each company can have a different job description for the position, depending on the type of salon. It could be different if it is a tanning salon, spa salon, or just hair. Also, do they have assistant supervisors? This could also make a difference. Try to contact the human resource department within the company.

I worked as one for many years and I can tell you my roles yours may vary of course as each salon has its own logistics but some general tasks I did were: greet the clients take them to their area/ stylists chair etc. offer them a beverage, get the assistant to prepare the client for the stylist. I kept track of all stock on the retail and usage side, I kept a spreadsheet and was in charge of all stock re-ordering. I also kept track of the register, balanced the totals, did a nightly bank deposit and cashed out all the customers kept track of the recipts and what product sold. I answered the phone, booked appointments, did all the retail displays and organized any sales, shows and generally anything else the salon needed me to do and made sure each day ran smoothly and on time. Hope that helps :)

You are suppose to make sure no one is stealing, money or hair care products. you have to make sure the hair dressers pay their rent and you arrange appointments.

I think she supervises her surbodinates and also does the complicated hairstyles which they cannot manage.
