One of the toughest turf grasses is Tall Fescue but it's a clumpy grass and it's blade is coarse. It will tolerate shade fairly well. If you have a fine bladed lawn you probably don't want to use the Tall Fescue because you would be able to see a difference in texture up close.

Use lime to neutralize the uric acid in the dog's urine. This works but it's slow. If you can find it at one of your local Garden Centers there is a product called Doggonit by Millennium. It has an enzyme that neutralizes the uric acid before it can damage the lawn. This stuff is great.

If it from a canines urinating there all wintry climate or something you ought to truly rustle that soil up by potential of cultivating it down some inches previously planting or sodding. in case you seed or use a patch product observe that the seed won't experience your latest backyard precisely. looking on how huge the bare spot is that's somewhat useful to contemplate transplanting latest grass from yet another area of your backyard you would be digging up for flower beds, and so on... whilst i come across myself digging up a number of ft of backyard interior the spring and by way of out the summer for planting new backyard beds, and so on... i exploit a flat blade and decrease the grass up in about2 foot sections (shop approximately an inch of soil under the sections) and scoop them out. from there you are able to pass them anyplace and shape them with a shovel to change grass in different areas it is not transforming into so nicely. of direction you ought to dig out the areas you're shifting them to a pair of million inch down besides so as that the grass is on an identical point. This recommendations-set takes merely a sprint of watering, regardless of the shown fact that that's a competent thank you to recycle stuff on your backyard and achive a much greater useful seem interior the tip.

Re-seeding will probably result in the same problem.

Consider something else, sitting area, pavers for barbecue grill, planter box, etc...

All grass is susceptible and I'm not sure this is the right time of year to plant grass. Call a local nursery...
