Figure an average of $4 a pack X 30 days =$120.00

Go get your self something in the $60-75 to reward yourself.

(I'm eight days in myself. And I have not killed anyone.)

This comes down to simple math. I am sorry but my references will be in miles and pounds because I am American but hopefully you will get the point: (By the way...I quit smoking 5 months ago and lost 22 pounds so I know what I am talking about....and you can do it too) If you walk for 40 minutes you are not even walking 3 miles. You are walking about 2.5 miles at the most That will burn you about 250 calories. There is MORE than that amount of calories in two beers. So, none of that excercise is going to burn actual fat or food calories. Use this as a rule of thumb: It takes 3500 calories extra to gain one pound. SO.....if you normally burn 1350 calories just resting and a bit more with what you do throughout the day....but are eating 2000 calories a day, you have excess food calories that within a few days will amount to a pound of weight gain. Conversely, if you are burning excess calories a day, even if it is a couple hundred a day, you will eventually lose a pound. Believe it or not, I walked 9 miles every day while I quit smoking and lost 22 pounds in a couple months or so. It all comes down to adding up what calories you are eating and what you are burning. Good luck!

Congratulations! Nice job. I wish you well, and don't give up no matter what comes along. I quit 2 years ago after smoking for 27 years, and after not smoking for 2 months, I celebrated by buying myself a Chevy Impala with the money I was saving every month. I have not started smoking again, because.... I can't afford it!! Have fun with your celebration, in what ever you choose. Good luck, and it does get easier.

One month isn't quite celebration time YET. I have quit before and went back. I finally quit for good 24 years ago. I would say six months would be a good time to celebrate, but if you feel you must now, go for a three mile walk and see how good you feel. It just gets better and better as you go.
Good Luck and Congrats!!

I think you should go out and buy yourself something real nice with the estimated money that you have saved for not smoking for a whole month!! Just to show how expensive this habit really is. My fiance and I are getting hypnotized on December 2 to quit...and we are looking forward to the long term health and all the money saved. But I think you should go out and splurge on yourself to show the money you have saved for sure!! CONGRATS!!!

You should spend the money you saved from not buying cigarettes to buy yourself something nice. Like a new outfit or something like that. Get a pedicure or something fun that you don't always do. Just make it something positive. Go to the bakery and have them make you a dozen cookies that say Congratulations and pass them out to your friends so they know about your accomplishment.
By the way congratulations!!! Keep up the good work!!!

no!!!!!! forget about it don't even thing about it, you quit so you have to totally forget about it, I mean the reasson you quit it is because you don't want it no more so there is no reason to celebrate if you don't miss it, but you should only be an example for the people like if you say I quit smoking you can do it too you know what I mean??
God bless

Go buy your self something nice, a sweater, etc, with all the money you saved and think of how it won't ever smell like cigarrete smoke! Or you could go have your teeth bleached if you haven't already, it will be great knowing they won'y be yellowed from nicotine ever again. CONGRATULATIONS!!
