Technically a pedophile is someone who is attracted to children. A child molester is someone who engages in some form of sexual act with a child which could be actual touching or showing them body parts or making them show theirs etc.
A pedophile might become a child molester but doesn't necessarily have to be one. A child molester might also be a pedophile but many do it for reasons like power and control, and not because they are actually attracted to the children

I believe just having the urges to molest children makes someone a pedophile... a child molester is a pedophile who acts or has acted on those feelings.

not that much difference...a pedophile is someone who has sexual desire for children, a child molester is a pedophile who acts on those urges....but why do you ask this on the LGBT forum? the majority of pedophiles are heterosexual.... being a pedophile has nothing to do with being a homosexual. It still amazes me how many people question this on this forum....

No they are all wounded people that prey upon the innocent. They were preyed upon as children and believe this is the way to love. They don't realize they are sick and inflicting harm and sever damage on children. Any time there is action, words or thoughts of incorrect behaviour there is a violation.These actions are soul murder. That is why we are in the state we are in. There is a reported incidence of 92 % abuse on all children from some source in their lives to one degree or another.

There are actually three categories: Pedophiles, who are attracted to pre-pubescent children; Ephebophiles, who are attracted to post-pubescent but under-age children; Child molesters, those among the first two categories who have actually acted on it.

On the whole molesters are not human, and also not animals, even animals don't have sex without the mate willingness, what more to say about child molesters, I just can't describe them. I really hate them, they must be shot at gun point.

Yes, the difference is in desire and action.
A pedophile has the sexual desire for children, a molester has acted upon those desires.

Yes a molester doesn't have sex with the victim, just touching, no penetration is the difference. Not much of one but the two acts are considered separate and distinct

I dont see the difference. A pedophile is defined as an adult that has a sexual desire for children.
