I think there amazing! I work in a gym and train many people with different disabilities that dont let it get in the way of there life some born with others through accidents etc. i think there amazing people they never let there disability get there an inspiration. I personaly belive that more funding should be given to clubs and socities to help disabled sports and advertise sports and events such as the olympics.

there should deffinatly be more coverage on it!!

I'm not - but that's because all of the major sports events are so far away - not because it's special olympics. I would love to go to the 2010 which is only 3 hours drive from here - but the traffic is unbearable in ordinary times.

I participatein Special Olympics Indiana Tippecanoe County USA. I do Swimming and Bowling. Being in Special Olympics has been great because it gives athletes something better to do.

I love watching it - Makes me feel pround when we win lots of medals. The athletes complain a lot less than the able bodies ones too, and seem to be there because they want to win.

Well done to your sister. Does she have to throw all the way to Beijing from Scotland?

I wish there was better coverage of the special olympics.

Without sounding patronizing I think they are an inspiration and quite often come away with far more olympic medals than the more able-body ones!!!

These athletes show us what is possible with determination and a can do attitude. They should be given more coverage on TV as they are more deserving of it than football!

I admire these athletes for overcoming their various disabilities and getting on with life!
