Well....since its natural instinct in humanbeing to admire and to be admired.....eventually openly or secretly. Admiration from a friend, from seniors, from teachers, from known helps in building our career and potentiallity.....but when we start to feel there is someone somewhere sometimes admiring us for a quality or virtue....naturally it causes to feel something special about us.

There have been times though that I've been able to sense, or that I've been informed by another party about someone who had a crush on me & was pining for me from afar. It's a beautiful feeling. Being admired. Wanted. Loved. When someone tells you that they love you, there's always the chance that they may not really. That they're just saying it, with some other ulterior motive. But someone who thinks of you, dreams of you & doesn't have the courage to tell you (but whose secret is somehow unearthed) this is the most flattering & romantic proof of love to me. Then again, it's probably just infatuation. Still it's pretty cool. I encourage stalkers. That's when you know you've "made it."

Um,,, No offense, but "Know" suggests it isn't a "secret." At least not from you.
I suspect that the usual case is joy, curiosity, affirmation, and hope. Certainly that might be 180 degrees opposite if you had no such feelings in return.
