I agree! I am of the "he doth protest too much" thinking whereby those who go out of their way to find these places just to bash are in fact afraid of something within themselves. My husband is a straight man, into sports, likes his porn, etc etc and has no problem with his best friend and many of my friends being gay, because he knows who he is.
To the phobes: If you don't know who you are I would suggest stopping attacking those who do know and maybe start getting in touch with who you really are inside!

People who are judgmental or actually gay but trying to hide it are quick to push their stilted point of view.
Look at Reverend Ted Haggard for a great example. In fact, look at most of the Christian Church. While I am a member of the Christian Church, I have worked and continue to work to convince the Church to support gay rights.
The Church's biggest problem is that the Bible was rewritten many times and most of the gay bashing in the Bible was most likely added in later iterations of the text.
The Torah bashed homosexual behavior because it was a part of the ritualistic practices of the Pagans. The only way to convince people to change was to say that old practices were bad. I do not believe that the Torah ever meant to so severely abuse gay people as has been done by the Church.
The same issue exists with "cross-dressing". This term was created by psychiatrists in the 1900s because the Church took the text of the Torah literally. The Torah was attempting to stop a religious practice by the Pagans where a man would wear a woman's robe as part of the religious ceremony. The Israelites wrote that a man should not wear women's clothing and vice versa in order to make the Pagan practice bad. Again, I do not think it was ever meant to be a clothing standard for the world.
Take care,
Troy

this is ridiculous. not the question, the fact that you had to ask. The fact that Homophobes even exist. i'm homophobicic. lol.
we shouldn't have to deal with these people. i think that as soon as you see anyone gaybashing you ought to report them. its what i've been doing. they have no right to try and insult and bully people. we are supposed to be adults, and so are they, but they all act like children, and you can't reason with children because its all about them, and what they want, what they believe.
maybe they are in denial, but with some it's not even that. it's just that they are sick. they have a state of mind "i am right, and thats that", and everyone else is wrong. the only people who can see that they are wrong is everyone else. and guess what? we are everyone else. and we are becoming (if we aren't already) the majority.

Because they are chicken ****...lol. Homophobes, in my experiences, are gays/lesbians in hiding. They are afraid to admit to this because of society. Horrible eh? So, they are going to make fun of what they truly are, so they don't feel "stained". My ex husband was a homophobe to the max. He ever refused to meet my Father because he was Gay. (which i think is cool as hell, having a Gay father ;) ) I'm not sure if my ex is truly Gay or not..but he was scared he would "catch something" from being around them. Thats why he's my EX...lol. I totally support you though...
I hate gay bashers..All of you should be ashamed. How dare you poke fun at someones life. How woudl you feel if someone did the same? Pretty crappy....But, just remember, Karama DOES happen ;)

Because they either are secretly fascinated with homosexuality and in denial, or think somehow that slagging off gays will make all gay readers suddenly think 'oh yes, actually he's right, well it's goodbye to my queerness now'. As if you're going to change your mind about who you are cos some ignorant oik has a rant?!

I would like to say hi. I myself have experimented with women before. But am happily married now. I commend the courage, love, etc that gay/lesbian/bi/etc have for each other. If all people in the world spent their time loving people regardless of sex, race, etc. This world would be a hell of alot better off. I believe in God. But get extremely angry that alot of people that claim they are soooo religious could insult people just because they chose different lifestyles. I quit going to church because I felt like I was surrounded by hypocrites. If they weren't talking about someone's life, they were talking about how people dressed,...or how big someone is. It made me sick!!! I feel that we are all different. And that as long as we know who we are,....and we love people,....then we are all great people. Don't worry about what others think,.....just be who you are and be happy.

Some people just get off on making other people angry. Homophobes see this section as a big ol' bullseye. They can come here, spew some hateful garbage, and are pretty much guaranteed that they'll get a response.

My straight, quite conservative dad wonders the exact same thing. He says they have skeletons in their closet.
Why do they visit here? Unless they have some sort of problem with gay people being happy. Jealousy can come in extreme measures.......

I'd agree with you Darren! You've got to be a sad individual if you have to seek out somewhere like Yahoo Answers where, under your cloak of anonymity, you can gay-bash!
