i took a pregnancy test yesterday at noon and three minutes later it was negative. then an hour later it was still negative. and then three, four, and five hours later it was still negative and then at midnight it was positive. do you think i am? i going to take another but why did this happen (showed up negative then positive)?

After 5 minutes you should chuck out the test, it may have false results after 5 minutes.

Why are you doing all of the tests. If you have had a positive test then you should be pregnant. If you feel that you need to do another pregnancy test wait another 4 weeks and then try the test again. If it is positive then you will know for sure. Sounds like you are doing the tests much too early. If you are pregnant the sooner you know the longer the wait.

A negative test shows that there is not enough of the pregnancy hormone in your urine to detect if you are pregnant. The longer you wait, the stronger the hormone becomes. You can have lots of false negatives (my friend kept showing negative for four months and had to have an ultra sound to confirm the pregnancy) but you can NEVER have a false positive so you are definitely pregnant!! Read the directions... the entire thing... it will tell you that a second line may come up the longer it sets there and you are not pregnant. Take another one and wait the 3 mins. If you still have questions go see the doctor.

Take a pregancy test when you wake up. It will catch the stuff that tells you if you are or if your not. Then Take one two hours later. That tells if you are or not

if you read it after 5 min they are supposed to be unreliable and thrown away. take another but it may still be negative, or you may not be far enough along to tell. Good Luck :-)

I guess that the last test was an error.
But you have no confidence in this test for doing it so many times

I'm not actually sure why this happened but I would definately suggest you take another one straight away, I would not trust that one at all. sorry i couldn't help!
