O.K. There is this horrid intersection less than 20 ft from the entrance to my son's school, which is only 2 years old. I think if I can get a large enough group of parents together, they'll have to do something, They desperatly need either a 4 way stop sign of a traffic signal. I want to organize some parents and start making phone calls and writing letters, but I don't ever do this kind of stuff, so I have no idea who or where to start. Anyone know who controls this stuff? His school is outside of the city limits and is a part of the county school system. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

Write up a petition and have as many parents as you can find to sign it. Then take it to the school board. Also take it to the town council meeting. Try to do something before an accident happens. Good Luck in your quest.

Why is the intersection bad? Busy, I'm assuming... Have you thought about going there when school is not in session? Most likely all the traffic your viewing is parents and teachers - picking kids up and or leaving school.... Try going there on a saturday afternoon and see how busy it is...

The city may have a traffic engineer. Check with the mayor's office to see who is in charge.

call your towns highway department. They will tell you if its their road or a county or state road and be able to get you in touch with the right people. The whole thing is a lengthy process but with a petion and the backing of more people,,that will help!

You city or town Mayor. They will promise to fix it but they will not until someone is seriously injured or killed! I complained 6 years ago about an intersection that has no stop sign. the Mayors office said he was working on it. There still is no stop sign. I fell they will not put one up until someone is seriously injured or killed.

It is different for some cities. Go to the City Hall and ask there.
