In high school sports, aren't Seniors required to be on Varsity instead of Junior Varsity?

Here in Texas, we have a Sr. girl and she was placed on the Junior Varsity basketball team. I thought a Senior automatically made Varsity. What are the U.I.L. rules?

Well, I'm not sure how things work down in Texas but here in Wisconsin...you have to be talented enough to play at the Varsity level. When I was in High School, I played football and Baseball, started at both on the Varsity level both senior and junior year. The baseball team actually made cuts...as in if you weren't good enough to play...even at the JV level...you weren't going to play at all.
But my football team was a little different... there wasn't any cuts but if you weren't good enough to play Friday nights, then you had a chance to play Saturday mornings on the JV team. Regardless of what year in school you were. So, maybe your school has some sort of policy regarding the "no cut policy". You know they way things are in today's world...and how much things have to be changed in order to make everyone happy...and not leave anyone out....I think she should just be Happy that she gets to play!

You can enter any of the military academies after you are enlisted, and it will simply cancel your contract. You still have to receive an appointment and meet all of the qualifications. You cannot however go to the Naval Academy and enter the Air Force, only the Navy or the Marine Corps, same thing with the Air Force Academy, you can only go Air Force. West Point is the only academy that offers that option. As far as your major, most of the academies have multiple degrees, if you want to fly I would suggest a degree in aeronautics, or math.

well a senior isnt made varsity instantly. they have to have a certain amout of skill to be on V. and if u dont have that skill then u hit the JV squad
