Technically speaking, everybody only has one birthday and that's the day on which they were born. All subsequent celebrations are anniversaries. But more conventionally, a birthday is a celebration of a very specific event, i.e. the day on which you were born. An anniversary is simply the celebration (usually annual) of a memorable historical event - it could be your birthday, or it could be your wedding, or any other memorable historical event (Pearl Harbour, D-Day, Armistice Day, etc.).

Birthday= day of birth (first birthday). Second birthday= completion of 1 year from Birthday= First anniversary. In short X birthday= (X-1) anniversary.
Hope that helps.
