i was only 3 tablets into a new pack when we decided to try for a baby but i stopped taking them straight away, i took the last one on september 30th. since then other than a bit of moodyness (!) and some slight cramping which lasted about 7 - 10 days but seems to have stopped now i have had no other pregnancy or pms symptoms. i have taken 3 hpts last one was last sunday (5th nov) all have come up negative. have been taking pregnacare daily and having regular sex but i was on the pill for 7 yrs non stop before we decided to try for a baby, could i be pregnant and not showing on tests or is it more likely that my periods are messed up a bit after being on the pill for so long?

don't really want to go down the route of calculating best days for sex just yet - doesn't sound very fun/romantic/spontaneous, maybe if we are still trying in 6 months will give that a go

I think you're periods are messed up from quitting the pill when you already had started a new package. I was in the pill for 7 years and when I quitted my period was messed up for twom months. I got pregnant 6 months after quitting it...but it only took my cousin 2 months...everywoman is different and periods will adjust. Good luck

I know its not the same but I was on the depo injection for 2 years and I stopped having them last september and I still haven't had a period so now I am going to the doctors to have blood tests done as I am also trying for a baby. They say it can take upto 6 months for your periods to get back to normal after stopping the pill. Although I was told it would take around a year for me to get pregnant after the depo but I haven't even had a period yet. Everyone is different but if you haven't had a period after six months then I suggest you should go to the doctors like me although they won't usually do anything until you have been trying for a year. Good Luck anyway!

Sadly this just goes to show how disruptive taking th pill can be.

The best thing for you to do is start charting your cycles to se if you are ovulating. The charity LIFE UK runs a fertility awareness programme and the Couple to Couple League has an excellent home study course.

Your body has natural periods of fertility and infertility. It is quite easy to determine when these are, so you really don't need the pill.

Also try and get hold of a copy of Fertility, Cycles & Nutrition by Marilyn Shannon. It has some good pre-pregnancy nutrition advice in it.

it is more likely that your periods are messed up than being pregnant but its not impossible i stopped taking the pill in feb 06 and my periods didnt start being normal til june but didnt get pregnant till end of july beginning of august i was 5 weeks pregnant when i found out seen the midwife everything went ok and it felt so good even though i felt so sick but then when i was 8 weeks i started to bleed but it was old blood so i was told every would be ok but was sent or a scan had the scan and we couldnt see the baby they said it could have been too small so they said come back in a week for another scan so we did and and we still couldnt see it and then they strated to ask questions about when i finished the pill so i told them and the said that the pregency sac(baby sac) would have started to form but then the pill decided to kick in and stop the pregency so there was no baby please be careful i would want anyone to go through what me and my partner has been through

It will take some time for your period to return to normal, so don't be surprised. However, if you used to have a weekly bleed after the 3 weeks of taking the tablets, then it is strange that you still haven't got it after you have completely come off the pill. In that case, perhaps you are pregnant.

It is most likely you schedule will be off for a bit after stopping the pill. My doctor advised me to wait until I had 3 regular periods before conceiving.

atypical sessions are somewhat undemanding esp in people who're very narrow. in spite of the undeniable fact that, in case you have become the marvelous nutrition on your physique atypical sessions do no longer inevitably recommend atypical ovulations. it ought to be which you're ovulating each month via now on account which you stopped the pill a mutually as in the past (in spite of the undeniable fact that it may soak as much as six months from time to time). atypical sessions make guessing the due date in the previous your first test harder yet in any different case can don't have the different effect. ascertain your nutrition regimen is stable, initiate taking prenatal supplements (the B supplements in them can easily help get your sessions favourite) and end any undesirable conduct (eg smoking) in case you have any. Then all you could desire to do is.... save at it! Ovulation kits could be effective if issues are complicated no longer understanding once you're mid cycle etc yet they're costly and can basically use them in case you're aggravating or have the money! stable success!!!! xxxx
