Asians are challenged when it comes to education. they are teached to perfection. Asian are also perfectionist, i saw a manager get out of a restaurant of his and he made a fuzz about the door that made a screech that wasn't even heard when not noticed.that is a sign of a noticing smart person.

it depends on a person. it just happens to be asians. a person is smarter when he works honestly and hard. even a smart person can fail if he/she is lazy to use and develop it. a not-so-smart person can also possibly can success and get A+s at school if he/she is deserving and really determined to be so.

It's all about culture.
They are taught from a very young age that education is important and pressured to succeed in it throughout there adolescent life. Also, another question to ask is.. Why are Asian teen suicide rates so high?

On the extreme flip side.. we are an industrialized nation that does not emphasize the importance of education. I made As all through high school and now through college.. but I never received a scholarship.. ? Meanwhile the quarterback at my high school got a full ride. I keep kicking myself for being smart and should have become an athlete.

We just don't value smarts in our culture.

It's a state of mind not just a fact. Everyone tells asians they are/look smart and so they take it as a compliment. They then work to acheive their goal of bein smartish.

We, Asians, are NOT necessarily smarter. I'd like to say that our education makes us study harder, and our social system makes us work harder. Hard work makes us achieve higher, and it does NOT mean we are smarter.

They haven't lowered their education standards. They expect everyone to learn, not just get through school.

Truly poor people try harder to achieve and have something in their lives. In
wealthier countries, they get welfare, and sit around and complain about how hard they have it!
