what is the worst thing technology?

The worst technology I would say is the television. More time has been spent sitting in front of the boob tube than has been spent on trying to discover cures for most diseases.

Television was the earliest technology that has made our culture the alone culture (as I call it) where everyone does everything alone. We watch TV, we play on the Internet, we don't socialize at all. Even when we do, we do it with our MP3 players on or our satellite radio Walkmans, just so we can avoid having to interact with our fellow man. TV was the beginning of this.

We live in a culture where actors are treated like gods. People complain all the time about how much money athletes get, but they never say anything about actors. Many actors make more per movie, than any (and by any I mean any athlete world wide) makes per year (I believe Alex Rodriguez is the highest payed athlete making roughly 20 million a year, whereas Bruce Willis makes 30 million per movie and can and has made 3-4 movies in a year) We have created whole professions to deal with our obsession of actors (big and small screen) we have gossip magazines, we have paparazzi, we have more TV shows to tell us about TV shows.

Why is all this bad? Well, it keeps us busy, and keeps us from thinking too much. Have you ever been at work and there is no work, so the boss makes you sweep the floor for the third time today? It's the same thing. In the work example, the boss is doing it so you will keep thinking "what an ******, he makes up work for me to do" instead of thinking "oh great, the company doesn't have enough work to keep me employed, guess I need to look for another job" With television, they keep you laughing and crying and you never question what is going on in our world around us. Most of us only get our news from television, which is really bad, because a hand few of men control what is said and what is not said, so how can you have unbiased news?

Internet. It is full of all kinds of rubbish like pornography/death videos/stupid videos/pedophilia etc.

We are a lot less sociable because of it. It isolates us from others. We can completely lose out identities because of the internet.

I know a guy who was a great person, he was loving and was liked by everybody and nobody had a bad word to say about him. He was exposed to pornography from a very young age on the internet and became addicted over the next few years of his life. He got a little older and started watching gay porn and became addicted. He became insecure and developed anxiety, now he has somehow been exposed as being gay and has lost his masculinity and his identity. He sits down for hours by himself silently and no longer even remembers how he relates to his friends or family.

If you meet people who have never used the internet, never masturbate, hardly ever watch television, never do drugs or alcohol and stay active, you will instantly feel the positivity coming from them. It's because their brains haven't been exposed to all this corruption, data, information etc. They keep their minds fresh and clean and that way, they enjoy and appreciate smaller things in life a lot more.

If internet was non-existant, then life would be much better. The only reason we'd struggle without internet these days, is because we're dependant on it.

No. It is Poverty. Poverty drains the economy of a Nation. It also increases the crime rate. Eliminate Poverty and you eliminate a lot of problems we face today. In order to eliminate it. It starts with 1st a good home w/ good parents that care. 2nd is Education. If the Parents don't start the process off on the right foot everything elase will be hard to do.
