Use a good base and top coat.
Re-apply the top coat every 2-3 days.
Buy a better brand of polish, like Opi's line that has real diamond dust in it. Or just use their base and top coat with diamond dust with your regular polish.

put top coat of clear varnish over the colour and try and be careful when doing washing up and stuff. The best thing though it to put the colour on just before you go out and during the week to wear clear varnish with white pencil under nails giving the effect of a french manicure - and if the clear varnish chips you can't see it.

Put some strenghtner on your nails 1st and by a good top coat (a clearn nail varnish) and put that over the top of the black once it has dried if not then buy a more expensive nail varnish, some of the cheap ones chip no matter what you do!

Hey hun.. Im am studying beauty therapy at college and my experience is to:
1. Only put max 2 coats on.
2. If you can dry them in the freezer.
3 If not buy a coat shine which protects the nail varnish and also gives you thats extra shine.

Apart from those mentioned above, it is also a good idea to apply one layer of clear top coat everyday or every other day to protect your varnish.
There are also specialised product to prevent chipping, e.g. Chipskip from OPI.

what i do is i apply a base coat, then the varnish itself (say 2 coats) then i apply top coat.
also wear rubber gloves when washing or gardening remember its not only our nails need protection but also our hands.

Im a beautician and i ALWAYS apply a base coat , nail strengthener, 2 coats of colour a top coat and then a quick dry polish!!!

wear gloves when washing up/gardening etc
