women smell of wee because their pelvic floor muscles become weak and they can suffer from stress incontinence which is a small amount of leaking when laughing, coughing or sneezing and is basically the result of childbirth. Men on the other hand are worse from my experience as the prostrate gland enlarges when you get older and causes dribble incontinence which is pretty self explanatory. there are really attractive condom like things which men can wear to catch the drips but as most men don't like to see the doctor they just drip. if you are lucky enough to live to be an oap it is probably something you will experience along with the whole thing shrinking and becoming saggy skin. hope that gives you something to look forward to and slightly more empathy with the older generation.

Shame on you for being so insensitive. Many older people have urinary problem, such as leakage. This can lead to an odor, but it's all part of becoming old. Do you think for one minute that they like not being able to control their bladders? After asking such a question I kinda hope you have the miss fortune of sitting next to one of them on the bus every day of your life until the day comes when you are that person.

Sometimes, especially when people live alone, it's difficult to get in and out of the shower. They're afraid of falling.

The other reason may be that they just forget. Older people may have grown up with different hygiene rules than we have, due to war and/or the depression.

my mum was incontinent in the worst possible way caused by an infection caught in a hospital which speeded up her death. my dad is now incontinent because he has advanced alzheimers. wot kind of education did u recieve? u deserve to walk everywhere rather than catch a bus. who knows, one day u might get incontinent then someone can moan at u for smelling like p*ss

Its certainly not lazyness......some older people suffer bladder weakness and dont realise it. Everything in the body eventually wears out and i suppose the bladder muscle is one of them. I work with the elderly and i can say not many (prob about 1 in 100) smell of urine. It may happen to you or me oneday but one would hope we'd realise and do something about it.

If you worked in a hospital you would understand, maybe you should take up some volentary work!!!Then you can ensure all old men and women wash. Im sure you will be in the same position in years to come.Well I hope you will be!

OK i agree its not pleasant, but if you are lucky you will live a full and active life and eventually get old.
When you are young fit and healthy you don't think
it will ever happen to you. It does!!!! try a little understanding it goes a long way, and hope your grandchildren do the same with you.

How did you this one off without a "report abuse"? Some of these women sounded like they wanted to lynch you! "Minge"? I don't think I've ever heard it refered to as that before!

It's called incontinence not laziness.A lot of old people suffer from it and it can't be helped.
You may well end up smelling of wee wee when you're old.

When you are old and need help with everyday tasks, I hope there's nobody to help you. These OAPs have done so much for our country, instead of slagging them off have some respect
