Hmmm...not sure if a decoy of an owl perched outside your window would work or those stick-on silouttes of predators, such as hawks. Those work for smaller birds to keep them from banging into the windows...

Are they purposely "attacking" or just hitting it becuz of the reflection they see?

Sleep in a different room? (just kidding)

I used to have a similar problem with sparrows and bluetits pecking at my windows every morning. Turned out they were getting insects off the glass and the sill where they had got trapped by the moisture condensing out during the night. Clean the windows outside really well with washing up liquid to stop the moisture condensing and the problem will go away. Well it worked for me anyway ! :-)

Some people hang a string of old CDs like they were a curtain. The reflections as the string turns in the breeze seem to scare birds off. It may be a bit tacky, though.

They will be heading for reflections they see in the window, either they think it is the sky or rival birds. Try closing the curtains.

You need to make the window as non reflective as possible. Try some curtain lining where you would normally hang nets and the darker the better.

Failing that call in a priest!

Maybe you could use clear meshing. Fasten from the gutter to your window sill until the problem ceases. Window cleaner may not be to happy though.

Your window might be too reflective and they're mistaking the reflection for a rival.
