Not totally. The truth about many of the deaths was covered up. Many of them were killed by friendly fire or by the Iraqi's they were training when they turned on them. This was the case with Tillman, a former NFL player who volunteered to go to Iraq and who was killed by friendly fire. The military is only now going back and reinvestigating a number of those deaths to find out what really occured.
It wouldn't have looked good for the Bush administration or the Republicans if a lot of reports came back saying that many of the US troops were killed by the Iraqi soldiers they were training.
Also on the Afghanistan and Pakistan border, many of the bombings were claimed to have been made by the Pakistani army helping the US. It would have looked really bad for the Pakistani government if the US had sent forces into Pakistan or bombed any in Pakistan. However pictures from the bombing sites show shrapnel with US insignias on them showing that the bombings were not made by the Pakistani military but by remote controlled US guided missiles.
Disclosing the truth would create great political problems for the Pakistani government as far as helping the US.

Yes I believe so because the Army and the Armed Forces have all learnt that anything that they try to keep a secret will eventually and probably come out. Take the scandal of Abu Ghraib or the German skull-desecration in Afghanistan. They usually do tell the truth on causalities simply because that is the hardest thing to hide when you have either bodies or injured soldiers coming back to the USA.
This isn't the USSR or China where they could.can lie and get away with it simply because there is no freedom of speech or govt. transparency.

Seems no.Bcoz US invasion of Afghanistan was an excuse of 9/11, which in view, it was US intel planning and not possible at Alqaida level. Even then the false excuse has never been shown or proven.
As far as Iraq is concerned US and UK jumped in blindly like drunken ones and are aggressors.
NO one asked them for help and more they are not supposed to be world policemen.
People say to save the life of american and british soldiers! Is it not ashame not mention about the saving of lives, digity, respect of Iraqis as well.
Now the situation has out of their control and they licking their wounds and giving different excuses.
Its more shameful that inspite of the fact they have realised their mistakes in starting war ~ but they dont have man's courage to accept their FAULT and tell the world that we were mistaken in starting war in Iraq.

I believe that the military tells the truth about their casualities. I don't believe that the media does though.
